Email: judithbarath@earthlink.net Judith Barath graduated from the University of Design and Graphic Arts in Budapest, Hungary where she earned an MA degree in graphic design. After college she worked as a freelance illustrator and designer and was sought after for many projects by major Hungarian companies. She has illustrated children's books, record covers, movie posters, and greeting cards, designed logos, corporate identity presentations and animated television commercials. One of her animated movie commercials won the Golden Lion Award at the Cannes Film Festival. In February of 1987 she moved to Los Angeles, California. Between 1987 and 1994 she worked as a children's book illustrator. In 1994 she worked as an art director at Equity Marketing, a promotions agency in California. In September of 1995 Judith moved to Oak Brook, Illinois where she worked on freelance projects from local promotional agencies like Simon Marketing and The Marketing Store Worldwide. Clients included McDonald's, Ferrari, Old Navy, Disney, and Chevron. She also designed logos, promotional projects, watches, and presentations for a wide range of marketing products. Her computer artwork was presented by Iby Fine Arts Gallery in Los Angeles and in Downing Art Gallery, Westmont, IL. In 2001, by the International Open Image Competition, her artworks were selected for exhibition in London at the Colville Place Gallery. In 2002 she participated a juried exhibition of digital art at The Center for Contemporary Art, Sacramento, CA. In 2002 Judith was invited for exhibiting her work and giving a speech at the Second International Art Biennial, Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 2003 December, she exhibited her works on the "Biennial Internzionale dell'Arte Contemporanea", Florence, Italy. Presently she devotes her time to create provocative figures capturing the human spirit on the computer, to paint impressionistic oil landscapes and to photograph while traveling around the world. |
