According to Derric Clemmons, "We are in the midst of homogeny-social, political, moral." It's a concept that makes note of the current mental state, its relationship with the present and history, and draws upon the subtleties and similarities of that interaction. When "homogeny" and influences like Cubism and expressionism collide in Derric's work, the result is a merging of subject and background. The end product is a visual art that's musical, or as Clemmons describes it, "visual jazz." It's this recognition of the simplicities in everyday life that Clemmons carries through in his art, unique pieces that reveal their ultimate moods in the most hidden, detailed strokes.

"These tables represent a concept I have been working on for some time now. Called DEKI tables, they represent all the cultural variations one can imagine, produced with a mix of different mediums, including hand carved bone, glass beads and jewels, semi precious stone, woodburned patterns and acrylic artwork all sealed in a thick layering of high gloss durable resin.
The motifs/ imagery are interchangeable, and request can be made for more personal details at an additional cost. Parson table legs are standard; however, carved legs will be offered at a slight addition in price.
Dining tables and room dividers are also under consideration (very special order). The following tables come in diferent shapes:
'Terra'- square
'Wave' - square with a scallopped side
'Aquatico' A fish or goblet shape
'I o'- round
'Veil'- one side with a curve and triangle shape.
' Largo' (yet to be displayed) is a longer coffee table design.
No two are alike. Designs take two to three weeks total. All are signed and numbered. Price includes shipping in the U.S. Outside orders are more. Larger commissions accepted."
