I believe that any art worth looking at makes its own statement. It's up to the viewer to interpret the art within her own system of values, to like or dislike without prompting from the artist. I created these paintings because I had ideas that needed liberation; I put the ideas on canvas because that is my creative medium, just as a diarist uses the blank pages of a book. Thomas Moore said "Art is about the preservation and containment of soul. It is about arresting life and making it available for contemplation. Art captures the eternal in the everyday, and it is the eternal that feeds the soul." This is my philosophy exactly. My art gives substance to my dreams.
